Panthers Safety Concerns

Panthers understands the safety needs that parents have and wanted to share some of the ways that the organization addresses these concerns.

All coaches are required to complete a yearly certification prior to the start of the season.

Cheer coaches must complete the following:

  • ASEP Certification

Football coaches must complete their appropriate certification based on whether they will be coaching flag or tackle.

  • Tackling Certification
  • Flag Certification

Panthers participates in teaching football players the fundamental techniques as described within USA Football which focuses on Heads Up Tackling.   For more information, please visit USA Football

For the past several seasons, Total Body Wellness and Performance, Inc. has worked with us to ensure that a Sports Medical Specialist will be on our sidelines at our Home Games for all our football and cheerleader athletes.   Additionally, in the event of an injury, they make themselves available one day throughout the week at one of our practices for a follow up.

Football Player Equipment:

  • Both game and practice pants have built in pads.
  • Shoulder pads along with rib vests are replaced on a rotating basis.
  • Helmets are some of the highest rated available. The helmets are re-certified on a yearly basis even though the re-certifications are valid for 2 years.  We also retire helmets that are 5 years old.

Panthers currently utilizes the following types of helmets:

Riddell Flex Helmets                           Riddell Speed Helmets
